churches in bedfordshire, england
One of the reasons I take photographs is to collect and preserve what I see in order to look back one day and measure the changes. I choose subject matter based on my own personal interests. This particular collection stems from my interest in the English Reformation, architecture, and travel. Many people visit cathedrals, and having studied these types of structures I find them intriguing as well. However, I chose to focus my attention on the small parish churches instead as I feel they more closely represent the type of unique utilitarian beauty that is often overlooked or taken for granted. For this particular collection of images, because of the age of the subject matter, the changes over the course of my lifetime will be minuscule in comparison to the changes that they have already endured over the course of history. Therefore, someday I hope that these images find their place in a larger collection helping to preserve the history of these buildings.
